Holy shit there are other people who like Dollhouse. All I heard while it was running is 'this show is blatant Joss Whedon fanservice.'

The premise of it was so interesting, the plots were cool, and everyone but the dolls were assholes. (And some of them sometimes too.) Man I miss Dollhouse.

Dollhouse is my second favorite Whedon show, after Buffy (nothing can ever replace Buffy in my heart).

I think it had a lot of great ideas and asked really good questions about identity and that kind of stuff. And it had some really exciting plots too. It does seem a bit rushed in places, but that is clearly because the show was always on the brink of cancellation and they wanted to get through as much of the story as possible.

There are definitely fans but I know what you mean, before whenever I used to bring it up online all I'd get back is comments along the lines of, "Ew it's so exploitative!" But I feel like people were not getting the point of the series. And as you said it's not like these people were treated as if they were good guys, the series is definitely one of Whedon's darker pieces and it goes a lot into what is morality and what is a soul.

I loved Dollhouse, I could have used another season or two.

There's a nice little fandom on LJ! Although now I wonder if it might bloom up here on DW given the chance...
