Never seen this show and know nothing about it, but I am with your sentiment, OP. I have spent much of my life wishing my dad were someone else who treated me better, who I could trust and be close to, who was someone different entirely... I'm almost 30 now and I've learned to deal with it (to an extent), but it has never stopped hurting. Infinite hugs to you.... find the strength within yourself to realize that you are so much better and more valuable than anything terrible he can do to you or make you feel. It hurts, and it will always hurt, but you will find a way to cope <3
