I can't get over how obviously yaoi bait-y K is. I can't even ship it because it's just so try hard bait-y.

Am I making any sense

Yep. I get what you're saying exactly.

...I would ship in K anyway, but I prefer healthy relationships myself, and there's practically none in there.

They tried too hard with the Yata/Fushimi foe yay but imo Fatso/Yata, hell even Mikoto/dead-kun was 80% better.

I'm just annoyed at how dead-kun only showed up in like ten minutes of the entire series, and was still the driving force for the entire (ridiculous) revenge plot. IT'S SO CLICHED I CAN'T STAND IT.

I am disappointed, K. >:|

Fat-kun was my favorite. Wish he had more character development.

I just wanna know why he gained all that weight. It's really interesting to me, because that sort of body change almost never happens in anime.

WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU, DUDE?

(Anonymous) 2013-01-09 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah seriously. Why did fat-kun become like that? Did he have a moment in life where he just gave up in life and started overeating? Thyroid problems? We know he can do backflips and shit though. Plus he seems to look out for Yata a lot and they seem close.

pretty sure season 2 is probably going to have more of him (though probably skinny version) based on some promo stuff anyway.

I hate being force-fed pairings. Like, I could have shipped any of the big pairings in that show if they'd just dialed it back a bit. :/

i've seen this yaoi-baity comment a lot and while yes, it was obviously advertising the fuck out of the dudeships and was 100% aware of its audience, i didn't really think it detracted from anything? i guess yaoi-bait as a term just makes me cringe by how it's thrown around to dismiss pretty much anything with pretty boys who interact/seem to have any kind of closeness nowadays. and this isn't even in response to this comment as much as a general observation/thinking out loud but: i keep thinking how, had they beed advertising three sets of main het relationships, there wouldn't have been nearly as much noise, good or bad, about this show. is there even a word for shows that advertise het relationships? pretty sure they're not described as "bait for fans who are interested in watching a male and female character interact."

i'm honestly not even trying to be snappy but just trying to wrap my head around this whole thing because it makes me a little :|
