I haven't seen Lost Girl, but I know she's a succubus. I have a hard time imagining that it's possible for her to be a progressive portrayal of bisexual women, when that plays straight in to all of the most terrible portrayals of sexually predatory nympho bisexual women who are only bisexual in order to be even more appealing to the male gaze. Am I wrong?

You are! In a way. I mean ... yes, there are lots of eye candy sexeh lovin' scenes ... BUT Bo wants a monogamous relationship and strives for it (she has two main love interests, one male and one female .. and the male is not at all interested in sharing her). She is not a nympho per se, but does enjoy sex and is not shamed for it. No one even bats an eyelash at her sexuality, which is refreshing to say the least. I am SO tired of the trend where the defining characteristic of a fictional LGBTQ person is that they are LGBTQ.

The show itself is campy and cheesy and there is lots of parody fun. It is not perfect that's true, but the simple existence of Bo and Kenzie (the characters on their own and their friendship in particular) is well worth attention and praise.

PS. All above is of course my own opinion, and as seen above a lot of people don't share it ... which is kewl :) To each their own.
