So how does Mars not break this stereotype? I'm asking because I don't know, not trying to be a smartass.

I'm guessing OP has only seen the anime.

But even in the anime this isn't true.

But even in the anime she doesn't fit it. She has a temper, yeah, but while she tones it down as the series goes on it's never shown as a BAD thing, nor is she shown as a bad person for having a temper. Same way the show never treats Usagi as a bad person for being a bit of a crybaby, or any of the other senshi for any of their flaws.
ext_81845: amuro ray from mobile suit gundam, in his underwear, from the doan's island episode (WTF?!)

Not only that but every time she gets upset it seems like it's a legitimate reason, any normal person would be bound to lose their temper around Usagi IMO

Well from what I vaguely recall, I always found "Rae" annoying and bitchy. She was always complaining about "Serena" doing something wrong or stupid. And unnecessarily jealous, critical and demanding. She was just so obnoxious and clearly set up to be Sailor Moon's foil within the Senshi.

BUT (and this MUST be considered) I watched the English US DUB. So that's probably why. I've only seen the films in sub not the episodes, and I would bet my first born that the english dub completely misrepresented her. I do think that lends itself to the validity of the OP's secret altho it's not as extreme as "villain". Maybe the dub is all the OP saw?

I didn't quite get it either. She's not particularly volatile, she's not evil and she's the one who takes care of Usagi who can be childish (especially at the beginning). She's not exactly calm either but it takes a great deal of control to use her powers as she does and right from the beginning.

Just coming in here to say this. My memory of SM may be patchy, but she's still my favorite character and I don't recall anything like what's being complained about in this secret. She was shown as having a more mature and dominant personality from the jump.

Thank you!

...Urgh, I thought I had the credit beside it :( Now I've got to look for it.
