House of Leaves. The Internet told me it was the scariest, most unsettling book ever, but I thought it was overrated and boring.

Oh no! Well, maybe you'll like it more than I did. Be warned, some of the chapters are not easy to slog through.

Randomly butting in!

I enjoyed it quite a bit when I read it, but less for any particular aspect of the plot than the fact that I really love books that mess with the actual format of the text. It is definitely not a quick read, though.

I couldn't even finish it I found it so boring and overrated. I ended up giving it away.

THANK YOU. It's just... incredibly nice to find someone else who agrees with me about this book. (I mean, if you like it, cool, whatevs, it's just not for me! But man does it get lonely when everyone else is talking about loving it...)

ughhh, so much agreement about House of Leaves! the worst of it is that it could've been great, but Danielewski threw all its potential away by being so much in love with his own cleverness.
