Re: What was the last book you read?

I once walked out of a Michael Chabon lecture because I thought he was unbearably smug and self-congratulatory, and now I can't read his books.

The last book I read was Civilwarland in Bad Decline by George Saunders. I wasn't going to buy kindle copies of books I already own, but having my copy mailed to me would cost more. Anyway, "Civilwarland in Bad Decline" is an amazing story, but the rest of the collection is a little uneven.

I was going to read one of his books, based on a reccomendation, but then I read the summary and lost all interest.

You don't have to rely on summaries, some of his stories are online for free, for example, Sea Oak.
