Re: What was the last book you read?

I just finished "The Three Armageddons of Enniscorthy Sweeney" by RA Lafferty. It is (like most of Lafferty's work) one of the oddest things I've ever read - it's a bit of an alternate history thing, in a version of the 20th century where someone prevents the great tragedies of the period from coming to pass by creating operas and plays based on them before they happen. But it's also a lot more than that. Strange, but it also had a lot of really beautiful and wonderful sections - in particular one called "In The Days of Silent Radio" I really liked. The ending was a bit weak, but I'd still recommend it to anyone who likes that sort of thing.
