Uh. IDK even what to say, considering the fact that it's a canon where Eve Moneypenny shoots him at some point? I shooting a partner better than screwing up a girl who agrees to it?

When did she agree? He never asked, just showed up in her shower and started making out with her.

I don't think IRL people always ask each other: "Do you want to have sex?", and then the sex is not a dub-con if and only if they do say "Yes".

THIS. I mean, seriously, in real life, a lot of romantic and sexual encounters are just people starting in without any discussion beforehand. This can lead to problems relating to consent, but that doesn't mean it always will.

It's not that she needed to agree, it's that she needed to at least be the one to initiate, but even then the whole thing could have been seen as fairly dubious.

Well, the way it was filmed implies a time-lapse we didn't see, so she might know he's thee already.

Also nothing in her demeanor looks like she's unhappy about him getting into the shower with her, tbh. I think it's unfortunate editing and/or writing more than anything else. I certainly think the implication of dubcon wasn't intentional.

She's been a sex slave since childhood. Of course she's not going to make a fuss; she probably had that beaten out of her before she had tits.

But that doesn't explicitly mean that she couldn't consent or couldn't want to have sex with him.

What it means is that it's extremely difficult for us to determine how she felt about it.

I would not have shot that scene in that way if I wanted to portray a consensual sex scene and I can definitely see why it could make people very uncomfortable. That doesn't mean that the scene wasn't supposed to be consensual but failed to get that across due to shitty editing/writing/time laps.

DA

Yeah, of course the scene was intended to be consensual; nobody's gonna explicitly make Bond a rapist. It was just handled so dubiously that the intention is ineffective.

I was beginning to wonder where the fail Moneypenny hate was hiding because that's fandom for you.

Bond didn't fuck Severine cause he was trying to fuck the villain and missed.

ayrt

Don't hate Eve at all, by the way! I think she's a great girl, and I generally don't have any issues with this kind of stuff.

Just pointin' out that the canon is full of those things and that if this is bad, then the Moneypenny affair is no better. And the entire Bond franchise is a nest of evil.

I don't think the call to take the shot is comparable; it was for some greater good and a calculated risk to the life of someone who definitely signed up for calculated risks to his life, though of course it's completely understandable he doesn't exactly take it well. Maybe M made the wrong decision but it was obviously a tough call; choosing whether or not to take advantage of somebody is not a tough call.

Please write this fanfic. Pretty please.

+1!

I need this story to be real.

Ahahahhahahahahaha! Best comment of the night, by far.
