I absolutely hate this book, btw. Especially the scene where she beats the dog hysterically. Not because it was bad for the dog (he in all probability wasn't even in much pain), but because NO WAY I would interact with such a person on a regular basis, never mind that she had postnatal depression.

"Marley and Me"

I don't get the massive love for it. It's like a guide "how to be an unskillful dog owner".

I started reading that book on a recommendation and couldn't finish it. I don't even think I made it halfway through before I was cringing at the way they were treating the dog. :( People seem to think it's cute that they did no research, were unprepared and didn't train the dog. It's not.

It's definitely a "How NOT To..." guide.
