Rapists lack empathy, and no amount of lecturing can replace what they do not have. Though....not all rapists are men. Also, I think this issue should be brought up, because anyone can be a victim.

That's a very black-and-white way of looking at it. I think it would be more reasonable to say that many (male, for the sake of argument) rapists lack empathy for women, or for people in certain situations. They see sexuality a certain (very skewed) way. Not that some of them aren't just pure sociopaths, though, because some definitely are.
