Anyone else apprehensive about that "King of the Nerds" show coming out on TBS?

It could end up being a celebration of niche things being cool but I have a feeling that the joke is going to be on them and that makes me sad.

Also a lot of the contestants seem like the kind of people who make me roll my eyes on the internet. But some of them seem nice.

I have zero doubts that this is what will happen. I know, I know, "Wait and see!" but I can't imagine it going well.

Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. IDK.

I'll probably forget to watch it in the first place, so you should tell us how it goes when it airs.

I get the same feeling as well when I saw the adverts. I turned to my brother and said, "I bet this show is going to be featured on 'The Soup' frequently."

If it is I'll find it hilarious because Joel McHale is also on Community which is about as nerdy as it gets.

But you gotta admit there is a definite hierarchy of nerds and Community is for sure the cool kids table in the nerd cafeteria.

Well yeah. Nerds who talk to each other outside are going to be a little more acceptable than nerds with character hug pillows who spend most of their time alone.

The thing about hierarchy is that it's always going to be there; you can't really fix that. Just pretend it doesn't exist.

Eh, it seems to me like it's basically the same sort of thing as Beauty and the Geek that they used to show on the CW that I had an enormous soft spot for, so I'm kind of looking forward to it.

The thing about Beauty and the Geek was that it always kept in mind that the "geeks" were, basically, human beings with human desires and human inclinations and human feelings, and that they just weren't used to 'normal' social interaction - and so that, in combination with the fact that it presented the 'beauties' as abnormal to exactly the same extent as the geeks, made it much more about people learning lessons about life than about laughing at geeky people. And King of the Nerds reminds me of that, and I think if they keep that tone it'll be fine.

Oh! I remember that show! I really liked it.

I looked up the character profiles on their page and actually this might be pretty neat. The commercials worried me a bit but I'm not really worried anymore :)
