I kind of agree. I am so sick of people going "BUT I WANTED RUBY AND SAPPHIRE REMAKES THIS SUCKS" every time a new Pokémon game is announced and it's gotten to the point that I hope it never happens.

I don't see what the point is, anyway. Ruby and Sapphire are fine as they are, there's no need to release the same games over and over whenever technology improves.

The response of "I don't like hearing people complain about something so I hope they end up mad" seems kinda dickish to me. And bitter.

This comments comes off as a bit pretentious since, you know, *you* may not see the point but obviously plenty of people do, since you notice so much of their complaining; doesn't their point of view mean anything?

Or did you also "not see the point" of FRLG and HGSS? They make the games over because people buy them, and people buy them because they like playing through old games with newer mechanics, features and graphics. Seriously - don't like, don't buy.

It's not just that people want Ruby and Sapphire remakes, it's that people specifically say things like "Ugh, Black and White 2?? That sounds so stupid, they should've remade Ruby and Sapphire instead of making NEW GAMES." Pretty much the biggest problem with the franchise is that it reuses the same formula too much, and I feel like they do that out of fear that new ideas won't be well received, so yes, now that GameFreak is starting to use with more original ideas, and people are complaining about it and outright saying they should have rehashed an old game that isn't even outdated instead of doing something new, I get bitter. It may be dickish, but, well, they started it.

When I said I didn't see the point it was more of a side note. Sorry it sounded pretentious, I guess.

I like the new games, but I wish they'd pause and put out the remakes. I don't think people are complaining so much about the fact that new games are being made (well, probably some...) as they are about the fact that they seem to be waiting so long, doing things "out of order" and, of course, the more new games they make the less likely it begins to look that RSE remakes will ever even happen, and that will be really disappointing for a lot of people.

I don't think people are complaining at all that GameFreak is using more original ideas (except for the butthurt "ONLY THE FIRST GEN WAS GOOD" types). Actually, I'd like it if they used MORE original ideas in coming releases. Out of curiosity, what new ideas are you referring to? I can't think of very many except the expansion of the Pokedex and the addition of a bunch of side games (some of which annoy me, to tell the truth - I hate having to walk through the musical and movie stuff just to get on with the game...)

I must just be hanging out with the wrong people, because I see people outright complaining that new games exist. :/ And I don't really understand complaining about things being "out of order"? Every generation is a different situation, so why complain about not applying the same pattern to each one?

I don't get the idea that the longer they wait to remake RSE, the less likely it is that it'll happen. It seems like it should be the other way around. RSE aren't really that old yet. The graphics aren't that much worse than those in the most recent DS games - I mean, there is an obvious difference, but not to the extent that there's a difference between Gen II and Gen IV, and Gen I and Gen III. And Pokémon from Gen III can still be indirectly transferred to Gen V. I'd say there's still a good chance they remake RSE someday, but that they're probably waiting to do it at a later time when there's more separating Gen III from the current region. (Maybe even Gen VI, if it doesn't turn out to be backwards compatible.)

By "new ideas" I was mostly talking about how GameFreak has been breaking the mold more often in Gen V. I was thinking of more little things like making the protagonists older, basing the new region off the US, putting slightly more emphasis on storyline and characters, switching up the plot in BW a little bit so the main story doesn't end with becoming the champion, the DreamWorld and all the additional multiplayer funstuff, aaaand especially creating sequels instead of a "Gray Version." I know they weren't huge changes (except for the sequels thing which got more complaints than anything), but I got the feeling they were testing the waters and considering switching things up even more. (Which, if X and Y are going to be as different as they're implying, might turn out to be true.) They could still do well to add even more original ideas, I agree.

Huh, I like the sidegames. Well, the musicals were a disappointment, but I loved the movies.

I really do hope X and Y turn out to be much different.

Most of the stuff you mentioned, though, were add-ons, not "changes" in the sense of taking away one thing to put in another.

I really don't like most of the side games. I think we just have different ways of approaching Pokemon gameplay, and that's okay.

I also hope you are right about the remakes coming out eventually. I do actually think there's a pretty big divide between Gen III and IV, but maybe that's just me? Not just with graphics, but also with mechanics.

You couldn't trade Pokemon from Red/Blue or Gold/Silver to the GBA/DS games. The end goal of Pokemon was to complete the Pokedex. The only way for you to get the Pokemon that were exclusive to those games on the new generation of games was to cheat. Hence the remakes.

That is also true, at least for some. Not everyone really cares about completing the Pokedex. But that's a really good point.
