I don't think so, because Ruby and Sapphire aren't outdated yet. I could see them doing it if it ever becomes impossible to have Pokémon from Gen III in the current gen, like if the Gen VI is incompatible with Gen V and before I wouldn't be surprised if they remade Ruby and Sapphire.

Gen V seemed to soon for Gen III remakes, I figured if they were going to do them they'd do them in Gen VI. Time will tell, I guess.

I doubt it. They're due for a remake. Normally what they do is make a new game for a new system, and then do a remake. Then another new game, and then a remake. Ruby and Sapphire are due next for a remake.

I think people would complain more if the game did get made though. A lot of people disliked Ruby and Sapphire.

The style isn't incredibly simple like the first two gens, so they're probably not in any big rush to remake it...

It will always be the generation I remember most fondly.

I kind of agree. I am so sick of people going "BUT I WANTED RUBY AND SAPPHIRE REMAKES THIS SUCKS" every time a new Pokémon game is announced and it's gotten to the point that I hope it never happens.

I don't see what the point is, anyway. Ruby and Sapphire are fine as they are, there's no need to release the same games over and over whenever technology improves.

I'd rather have sequels/revisitings of Hoenn than remakes.

The Hoenn region had a good deal of potential as far as design goes, and it could look fantastic on a 3DS without rehashing the RSE plot.

But then, that's even less likely to happen.

I hang out in really weird parts of the fandom, because I'm the only person I know who wants R/S/E remakes and thinks Gen III didn't suck, and when Gen VI was announced and most of my friends were all "HAHAHA IN YOUR FACES HOENN FANBOYS," I was just kind of sitting there going "...Wait, there are actually Hoenn fanboys? I must find them! =D"

But... Mario hasn't died. Nor Link, nor Samus, nor really anything Nintendo made in the past. Nostalgia is sort of their entire game.

Y'know, I'm sort of a neutral party here (in that while I'd think an RSE remake would be neat, I'm also okay with not having one so long as I still get a shiny Pokémon game either way), but this secret still annoys me. It's not the opinion itself. It's just that you're one of many people who thought "lmao let's sit back and watch the drama"... and it's just not cool.

I really wish both sides would do something more constructive than complain and gloat. Seriously, so many people in this fandom dedicate themselves hardcore to ripping each other apart over the stupidest, tiniest things. Why is laughing at other people for having an opinion okay? Because you want to feel superior over someone else's immature behavior? You do realize that makes you just as immature, right?

I'm sorry. You just remind me of these two people who constantly spam me about how crappy someone else's Pokémon fics are when they themselves are mediocre writers. So to them and to you, all I've got to say is, for serious, do something a bit more constructive. Go write fanfiction. Go draw fanart. Go participate in discussions in ways that don't involve drama. Just... stop doing this, fandom. Seriously.

Buuuuut this is also fandom, and I know that Pokémon's not the worst offender in terms of drama. It's just that when you can basically map out every single complaint fans have whenever new games are announced, it gets a bit old, you know? At least Homestuck's drama isn't so fucking predictable (nor do they sound like twelve-year-olds 100% of the time).

It'd make sense for there to not be one. As far as I know, a pokemon from R/S/E can be traded/transferred right up to B2/W2. There wasn't any way to get from the second generation to the third, though, thus the necessity in remaking those games.

I hope so, too. Except for me, it WAS because they were terrible. Ruby and Sapphire are the only Pokemon games I've ever played that I didn't enjoy.
