I keep thinking how much fun it would be to have a crackfic challenge comm based around people writing for fandoms they don't actually follow, so that there's an environment where it gets a pass just for the lulz.

Anyway, that is pretty funny. In a lot of fandoms the accepted characterization seems to equal the way one or two BNFs started writing them.

I love stuff like this. Like once a week we should post a bunch of tumblr posts of gifs and memes from random fandoms and have people who have no idea what they are describe their initial reaction.

I would love if it were to be a thing but if it is I'm probably not going to be the one doing it. I'm not really enough into fandoms to know which tumblr posts are largely representative anymore and I have quite a few things on my plate rn. But I would freaking freak if you someone did that.

Hmmm... well, I do have some downtime lately, so I'll have to give it some consideration. What do you think, just make a general thread and tell people to give examples from their fandoms and go wild or link to a specific fandom in the post and have people comment on it?
