I think that the fact that there IS a valid question about whether or not he's a Replicant is important to the central point of the movie and the questions that it wants to ask. The fact that you can question that, and that it's ambiguous whether or not he's a human or a Replicant, is definitely an important element of the movie. That said, I basically agree that it's not the central point of the movie, and making it into the central question for people to think about when they think about the movie is kind of missing the point.

God I love that movie so fucking much.
