Really? One scanlation group is not bad at all. Unless it's a very popular manga, it won't have more than one scanlation group - especially if the one scanlation group is already doing a good job. Forums and discussion groups are a better judge of how popular the anime is going to be. But also remember the main audience is Japanese so even if an anime is popular overseas it my not be popular in Japan. The reverse is also true.
