14. I sympathize and understanding since I come from a south-Asian family. Never mind I was born in the states - politics and the troubles today make it very hard for a lot of people. And most certainly on both sides! Anyway, there will always be assholes even after all this. There always have been.

I actually get annoyed, though, when people fangirl a culture or nation mindlessly. Appreciation is one thing, but some people get obsessed to the point of discomfort for others. But I do get what you're saying as well.

7) I think the fact you seek a stranger's support more of that of one of your friend is a great thing. As you said, friends can probably just tell you that because they're friend... it's hard to be honest and say harsh things to a friend. If you're a stranger, it's ok though.

21) pokèmon games are great!

22) Persona 3 is just awsome!

7. Have you tried posting your writing anywhere for strangers to view it? Or perhaps, have you confronted your friends and asked them for an honest-to-goodness critique? I always worry my friends are only being nice to me, too, but asking them to point out what works well and what doesn't tends to work for me. Either way, I wish you the best of luck!

9. Aw man, really? Poor Haruhi! I wonder, do you know why your friend feels she's a self-insertion/sue-ish? I always figured Haruhi to be a pretty cool, likeable and well-balanced character.

21. If you're having fun, why stop? Pokemon is grand! :) Age shouldn't have anything to do with how much you enjoy something.

22. Yeah, yeah! I'm personally finding the characters/atmosphere/art style of Persona 3 to be far preferable to FF/KH (although I still like FFI/IX and Disney is cool). I say go ahead and play what you like! People shouldn't tell you what games are good or not; only you can decide that.

Yes. It is. I just wish my friends accepted it. Most of them probably don't know about F!S, so I think I'm MOSTLY safe... they're awesome in everything else, but apparently RPGS are srs business to them. :/

18 - Yeah, me too. Unfortunately, I have friends that use it frequently. I can't get up the nerve to point out how much it annoys me.

14. I think it's more of an issue with people completely disregarding their own culture in favor of another. D: It's good to be influenced by other cultures because it overall improves racial harmony, but to hear someone say, "I wish I were [insert race here]!" is just disheartening. T_T Of course, this is all just my opinion on the issue. Other people may think differently.

Twenty years old here and I adore the games.

Makes me pretty proud to see the number of people here with a love for Pokemon, though it does aggravate me when people label it as childish when they know nothing about it. Story-wise, the characters and mythology are incredibly enjoyable and the gameplay mechanics of the games are shockingly complex.

21. The idea of being too old for pokemon (or things like Wallace and Gromit and Happy Feet) is about enough sad-faceness as I can take right now. You're right - way too much fun.

The series sounded intriguing and excellent when I first heard about them in the import games section of a playstation magazine years ago - rpg with modern setting and swish-sounding rumour system, woo hoo. Just wiki'd them and they never came out in my country. D: North America, you are v v lucky when it comes to console rpgs.
