Re: Movies That You Think Are Better Than The Book

I liked the film of To Kill A Mockingbird better than the book. The book was very very very good, and as far as message goes, belonged in the category of Some Anvils Need To Be Dropped, but the film was far more subtle and still did just as good a job if not better of conveying the message(s), IMO. But maybe I'm just biased because I saw the film first, and when I was quite young at that.

On the other hand, the deeper character development for Cal and Dill and Maudie Atkinson and Mrs Dubose that the book had but the film cut out was a real treat for me when I read it.
