Um. Possibly it depends on the tone of the comment and how fast it comes after fic upload, but ... I have gone into a flashback/panic-attack because of a fic, gone away for a few hours (a long few hours, sometimes) to calm down and stop shaking, and then come back to ask if the author could put up something about there being non-con or involuntary drugging in the fic. Not often, most people do warn for those things these days, but a couple of times.

I just mean you can be triggered, and come back later once you've remembered how to breathe, skip straight to the comment section and ask for some warnings. I'm not going to read the fic again myself, but just in case someone else bumps up against it, is all.

I was refering more to the people that argue for hours on how a certain post, or whatnot, is triggering them. I've had panic attacks before, I really don't see how you can deal with that and rattle off scathing comments for that long. Especially when you feel like you're going crazy (Or at least that's how it feels to me!)

I ... no. No, I couldn't hold it together that long, especially if someone was asking chapter and verse, because I wouldn't want to go back there again. But that could just be because. Uh. I'm not really good at confrontation at the best of times. Some people might be better at it, enough to be able to explain?

That makes sense. It's one thing to, as you said, go back once, skip to the comments, and leave a polite comment about how this subject might merit a trigger warning. If they're going to listen, they will; if they're not, arguing won't convince them.
