I hate their layout as well, but I'm not going to avoid FFnet simply because of it. Download in Calibre and read. Sometimes it's the only way to find pairings and plots you are interested in, and it's got some good screening features like size and genre.

In any case, it seems silly to let snobbery get in the way of indulgent entertainment. Who are you going to impress? Yourself?
