Actually, part of the healing process is taking back control from the reminder of a time where the person who has PTSD felt helpless, so it is entirely likely some one could post a comment after being triggered. It's actually HEALTHY that someone is speaking up and asking for a trigger warnings. A trigger reaction could be as simple as a quick flash of fear and memory or a full-blown flashback or dissassociative state. So if I get triggered I deal with it, then come back and speak up, if I am at all able, so it won't happen to someone else. And it takes a lot of courage to speak up. I certainly don't want to feel like a special snowflake, or advertise myself as such, but the warnings system is a HUGE help to me on days where I'm a little shaky and greatly appreciated.

Obviously you've had some bad experiences with the situation, but don't assume everyone with trigger issues reacts the same way. A flash from a trigger is not always debilitating, but it's still very disturbing.

It also may help, you to know that trauma memories bypass all the reasoning centers of the brain, and are stored in the amygdala, or lizard brain. You know, where the "fight or flight" response comes from. So...the reaction to a trigger isn't reasonable...your body gets a hit of adrenaline and you feel hopped up and scared and shaken. So. I don't know your situation, but as someone with PTSD, I'd ask for understanding. A lot of us have found fandom a good, relatively safe space to test out speaking up for ourselves.

/off soapbox.
