The Snow Queen (1957 USSR animated version)

The movie was more of a generic Good/Friendship/Love vs Evil/Deadliness of Winter? kind of deal, but I preferred it over the religious vs intellectualism (?) aspect of the written story. (I'm fairly religious myself, but because of ~reasons~ it rubbed me the wrong way in the book. Not a deal breaker, but it did diminish my enjoyment of it to the point of distraction.)

(I think a lot of my uneasiness comes from my uncertainty of whether the story's lesson was that cold intellectualism without emotions is Bad, or if it was that all intellectualism is Bad and religion is Good.)

I also liked that all the characters got a little more development in the movie, especially the girl with the travelling thieves. c:

Also, it was a very pretty piece of animation!
