As somebody else who was kicked out of his house for the better, I totally get you on this. Yes, being away from my parents fixed a lot of issues I was having, but it's still a punch in the gut. You get all this bullshit from media that parents "truly love" their kids and whatnot, and you're sitting there having had the rug pulled out from under you by them, and...it's really fucking shitty.

It's taken me a while, but six years after the fact, I've made peace with the fact that my mother is a controlling bitch with more issues than Playboy, and it's much better for my peace of mind that we're no longer on speaking terms. The shittiness will pass eventually, especially if everything is going much better by being out from under their roof. Work through it in any way that helps, but try not to dwell on it.
