I think this was posted before but I don't really want to go digging through the thread-

One thing that ff.net does really well and AO3 sucks at is character tagging. ff.net allows a maximum of 2 character tags, so it's a lot easier to find fic that's focused on a specific character or ship. Whereas AO3 has no tag limits, so people end up tagging their fic with every single character or ship that comes up in the fic, even if it's just a 2-sentence cameo or offhand mention, and the character and ship tags get cluttered with stuff that isn't really relevant.
