I know it's hard to believe, what with you clearly only being in fandom for like 6 months or something, but a lot of amazing authors used to post on ff.net because it garnered you the biggest audience and was basically the only option for a long time. If you refuse to look there at all, then you're missing out on a lot of truly amazing fic that was posted anything from 5 to 12 years ago. Then again, you seem like the type to just click on the first page and then call it a day, so whatever, your loss.

Anyway, the chief point here is that a lot of incredible authors from as much as a decade ago still have their stuff hosted on ff.net, and if you want to find something interesting, try navigating to the very last page of each fandom's tag. Brace yourself; you'll probably find something awesome.
