I thought she was a guy at first too, until some point in the manga where she says something like "besides, I'm a girl" off to the side. And even after that I kept forgetting. :B

she mentions it really later on, but after she does, it seems so obvious! she and ryuk are so beautiful :< i guess it wouldn't make sense for a god of death to do human things like sex(esp. since that's the process of reproduction which is.. uh.. the complete OPPOSITE of death, anyway,), but i.. i wish shinigami could do it
