I don't know why, but I don't think I've ever been really skeeved by the idea of RPF until now. I mean, I've always thought it was sort of gross, but this secret just made me shudder. It sounds so controlling, so creepy and stalkery.

People are welcome to find RPF unsettling - I don't care about that one bit. I was remarking on how ridiculously obvious the trolling was. It's pretty unlikely that a non-troll would have jumped from the secret poster musing that they'd like to read some fic about that couple to 'that sounds controlling and stalkery'. Like, what? That doesn't even make any sense. It's just a rehash of typical troll-y comments of 'RPF writers are all sick stalkers' - subtle as a sledgehammer XD

But they're not trolly comments because you don't like them. Trolls are people who will say anything to incite people, to manipulate them into getting pissy. If one actually means what they say, it's not trolling.

It's bizarrely arrogant to claim it is.

If it seems like "typical trolling" to you, maybe it's because people are mostly creeped out by RPF.

I'm usually not into RPS, but I would read this in the awkward, overly-self-aware way I've tried to read RPS before. That would be really good domestic-fluff fic.

Also, when they showed them at the Golden Globes, I found myself thinking that if those two ever have a child together, that child would probably have the most arresting hazel eyes ever. Just had to put that out there.

It was Real People Slash back in the day, but then a fair number of us didn't want to reject Het and Femslash and Gen, so started using RPF for Real People Fic instead.
