Yes, ugh, second person. Are there even actual books written in second person?..

Although, admittedly, I'm ready to ignore whatever person author chooses to write in, if the fic is otherwise good.

Second person has always seemed to me to be well-suited for two things: horror and a certain type of bondage-fic (what with the nameless speaker addressing the reader's "you" like a stalkery puppetmaster who has complete knowledge and complete control).

I feel like second person can come out very natural for videogame fandoms; game immersion means having the whole world refer to the character you're playing as 'you'.

Hm, I can see that.

(Though for me that still translates to first person (at least in games I've played, which are almost all MMOs), since I think I parse the "you" as coming at me in dialog rather than narrative.)

I know Timothy Findlay's The Wars uses second person in parts. I don't know of any other books that do so.

If on a winter's night a traveler is... well, mostly written in 2nd person, and it's one of my favorite books.

This! It's a fantastic book, and really the only novel in 2nd Person that I've ever read
