Although, admittedly, I'm ready to ignore whatever person author chooses to write in, if the fic is otherwise good.

Second person has always seemed to me to be well-suited for two things: horror and a certain type of bondage-fic (what with the nameless speaker addressing the reader's "you" like a stalkery puppetmaster who has complete knowledge and complete control).

(Though for me that still translates to first person (at least in games I've played, which are almost all MMOs), since I think I parse the "you" as coming at me in dialog rather than narrative.)
