I didn't think he was a great Javert, but I don't get the intense hate he's been getting. I've seen worse Javerts onstage. Yeah, his singing wasn't amazing, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting either. For me, I found his performance frustrating because it seemed like there was a great Javert in there, but he was playing it too safe, I guess. I just wanted him to do more, and he never did.
