If you hate it, you like it being made fun of.

If you love it, you're secure enough about your feelings that seeing it made fun of doesn't bother you.

If you just like it, you're afraid a parody will shine a bright freaking spotlight on all the issues about it that keep you from loving it.

That's my theory, anyway.

This seems to me to be a reasonable analysis.

For me, (NAYRT) seeing something I love parodied makes me happy because I love seeing any type of material acknowledging it. It's all a part of the experience, a part of the fandom, a part of the enjoyment. And it makes it feel like a special joke for me and other fans.

But then, I don't mind seeing parodies of things I like, either.
