OP here, I thought it was relevant? I really, genuinely don't care what the characters in my fiction look like and figured it's probably an extension of my asexuality? I would happily join my friends in lusting after some handsome celebrity, but it doesn't come easy to me. I'm tired of feeling like an outsider, thus the F!S.

Ummm.no. im very much not asexual and actor looks are never my reason for watching a movie, the plot is.

Your sexuality and gender have nothing to do with it. I get youre sad none of your friends have a similar interest, but your dismisive and divisive attitude is stupid. :|

don't be so freaking mean. THAT's what starts wank.

to include personal hang ups, stuff you wouldn't normally point out, stuff you feel alienated about- that's the point of f!s.

I never implied that all "sexual" people have shallow preferences. That's kind of a wide generalization to make!

I admit I'm an ugly kid myself and would feel better if shallowness wasn't so widely accepted in society, thus more people would care to watch films about non-attractive people. But since I can't really change other people, my only option is to consider myself the weird and dysfunctional one. I don't think I'm better than everyone, I just wish I knew more people who are like me.

Another DA

Chill the fuck out, calling someone divisive and dismissive for mentioning asexuality is stupid.

How about calling them divisive and dismissive for bonus misogyny - 'none of my male friends do it, ooh, it's shallow wimmins'

DA

That's called personal experience, Anon. She's not saying ALL women do this and ALL men don't, just those she hangs out with.
My dictionary gives the definition of misogyny as "hatred of women": I don't think it includes "not understanding something my friend who happens to be female does/likes"

You =/= all sexual people, jeez

I'm asexual, and a pretty dude in a movie might keep me in the theater, so... I don't think it necessarily works that way.

Yes, I find a lot of dudes attractive. No, I do not want to have sex with any of them.
