I can't wear gloves because my fingers are so short there always enough fabric at the tips for a whole 'nother set of fingers. It looks weird and floppy.

If you lived in a time period when gloves were common, then home sewing was also much more common; you would often make your own gloves. My great-grandmother was a seamstress and we are always finding her gloves and ones she made for my grandmother whenever we move stuff around her house. My grandmother was petite like me so I own a few of her gloves because they fit so well!

I feel for you, my hands are absurdly wide. Anything that isn't stretchy, I need to wear a men's small.
