I don't know, I think that in the context of the secret, with their friends only going if there are hot guys, i think it's an honest assumption fo rthe OP to presume the difference is that they're asexual and so that's why they don't make that same connection. "maybe it's because I'm asexual, but this attitude boggles my mind."
