I like buddy stories. I would totally read about a "bromance" between two people even if they're not two dudes. But there's rarely the chemistry and relationship like that between two ladies or men and women.

In case you're interested in recs, Clint & Natasha from The Avengers and Sherlock & Joan from Elementary have this dynamic in a lot of fic. And in canon Jane & Maura from Rizzoli & Isles do, too, though pretty much all of the fic I've seen for this fandom is femslash.

I was coming here to rec these, too! They're all great relationships!

I think I love those kinds of dynamics in general, be they between two men, two women, a man and a woman, or whatever else. Sometimes, I end up shipping the characters (like Natasha/Clint and Jane/Maura), but I adore the closeness they share first and foremost, whatever else goes on in their fandoms.

Rizzoli & Isles! I love their epic friendship. I have yet to dive into the Avengers but maybe I'll check it out for some Clint & Natasha bff action.
