If they are lying, there's no way to make them stop lying, their lies aren't hurting anyone, and at the most, you've made people generally skeptical of the veracity of abuse confessions.
If they're not lying, you've made people generally skeptical of the veracity of abuse confessions, AND you've weakened abuse victims' hope that people will believe and show sympathy towards them if they come forward and confess.
So tell me again: what did you hope to accomplish with this comment?

I specifically made the exception for the OP, who I do believe is an exception, but otherwise it does have to do with their secret, if not being specifically about them.
