First thought.

My Little Pony and Supernatural as outside chances.

This was my first thought as well.

If anyone's gonna judge you for the fandom you started in, they're hypocrites. 95% of fandom started out in a fandom that is in no way flattering to them.

Unless you are actually ashamed of what you've done in Mystery Fandom, don't leave it behind.

Unless you advertise your fannish history or actually caused wank in that fandom, pretty much nobody in any new fandom you get into is going to have any clue about your past activities.

Are you saying that you were involved in minor drama or that you were just a part of the fandom? Either way, most people won't know unless you have a really recognizable username but if you act civil, it shouldn't matter. I hope that you will find the courage to actively participate in what you love.

I do this. I wound up doing it the other way around - getting established in an almost respectable fandom and then making a sock to use in my godawful id fandom. It was fine on LJ and Dreamwidth, where I could just post stuff to appropriate comms and turn off the 'Member of' setting in profile view so no one can see which communities I'm in; on AO3 I have to keep two accounts. I sometimes fear that Someone Will Find My Sock! but realistically no1curr and at least this way I feel more comfortable about posting things.

In the first fandom I was involved in I wrote mostly a very controversial ship (non-con between two morally very reprehensible characters) as well as some RPS (which a lot of people think is skeevy). But none of my fandom friends in later fandoms have ever been bothered by that. Then again my current fandom friends are pretty cool people, so maybe others would be more dickish about that.

Most people are going to be way more worried about their own drama than yours, spot-light effect and all, people tend to think people are going to judge them/care more about their mistakes than they actually do. I'm thinking it would be really unlikely anyone would jump all over you.

No. No one will remember your minor wanky involvement in wanky fandom. Unless you are a BNF or a someone so wanky there's a page out there commemorating your insanity, no one cares enough to keep track.
