I know this feeling. I'm not quite bitter that TFP isn't TFA, per se, but I'm bored of TFP and really miss TFA, it really engrossed me in a way that TFP has utterly failed to do so far. I haven't even watched the last couple episodes of season 2.

Off topic, but whenever I've listened to fanmixes they've just seemed like the author took random songs they like and threw them together. I never saw the connection to the fandom or character they were supposed to be about. :/

Anyway, why not go ahead and make the fanmix anyway? I'm sure there are some fans in your fandom that like the same music as you, and it doesn't hurt to try.

I still think Wheel of Time doesn't belong in that list. I know no one here agrees with me, though.

Although, saying that, even if you do think it's bad, it's still not as bad as Terry Goodkind. Nothing is.

Bless you for this secret, OP. Because I've read fanfic with OCs in it whom I ended up liking better than most of the canon cast as they appeared in canon. There are some truly astounding fan writers out there who can come up with fascinating characters that TPTB either didn't want to or couldn't have gotten past a board of stupid-ass network suits.

I think the Messianic imagery generally works for me too in Doctor Who.

A lot of it is kind of a deconstruction of sorts? Like in series 3 the Doctor has his resurrection moment and forgives the Master... but it doesn't matter. The Master refuses his forgiveness and chooses to die.

And then in Voyage of the Damned, the Doctor has that Jesus moment, but Astrid still dies and Mr. Cooper makes the point later that if he COULD choose who lived and who died, that'd make him a monster.

BSG, Lost, Prison Break, Heroes - those are just the ones I can think of off the tops of my where the first season stood head and shoulders above the rest in terms of quality.

This movie gets so much hate, I don't get it. I know it has its issues, but the movie was something you rarely see-a mother/daughter story. Merida had to be a 'brat', or else the ending would have meant nothing. She was a teenage girl who balked at getting married so young to a stranger, and went about it the wrong way. She's coming into her own and stumbles. The journey makes her realize her mother did love her, and her mother learned to let go a little. (And hey, the guys didn't want to marry a stranger either. But for some reason no one ever really complains about that?)

Personally I find it weird that the kingdom is so young and it already has 'customs'. If there's only been one king and queen then how can it be 'customary?' :X
