My preference for trimmed goes to hygiene - I've found that most (women at least) who don't do some sort of grooming down there tend to ignore OTHER types of grooming. I'm good with a lot of hair so long as it doesn't smell - I'm not talking about the scent of arousal, but more like the smell that you worked out yesterday and didn't shower or change your underwear. Same with underarm and leg hair - I'm good with hair there as long as it doesn't smell like old sweat. All of this actually goes for men, too.
