My "show I just don't get" is Breaking Bad (and to a lesser extent, Battlestar Galactica).

I watched the first season and a half of Breaking Bad and it was good, but it just didn't inspire the level of love that I was expecting. And I enjoyed Battlestar Galactica, but I also thought it had a ton of flaws and didn't eve really adore it like a lot of people do.

Battlestar Galactica is a weird thing for me, because I loved the miniseries and season one. Like, fucking fervently. I burned for it. Threw myself headlong into the fandom, wrote super-angsty fic, obsessed day and night.

By the middle of the second season, I was like, "...what the fuck?" and stopped watching.

I've only seen bits and pieces of the subsequent 2 1/2 seasons, and even though I've told myself and others that I'll eventually watch it all, I can't seem to do it. My fiery passion transformed into trenchant apathy. So, I can kind of see where you're coming from on it, despite how I initially felt.

Oh My God it got so boring. I loved it at first as well, then there was a point where I was watching and Lucy Lawler was whittering on about the Cylon Religion to Baltar on some Cylon ship and I realised I just couldn't do it anymore.

I think my level of love for Breaking Bad has to do with the fact that, for one, it's one of the few shows that didn't just have a good first season and then completely shit the bed for the rest of the series - rather, it actually got better. And for two, there's so much bullshit on television right now it seems more amazing in the light of so much crap.

I blame the Jesse Pinkman feels and the stellar supporting cast that they introduce as the series goes on (pretty sure you wouldn't have gotten to Mike or Saul yet) Skyler also gets better. But to each their own :] I think I was lucky that I started watching it of my own volition with no expectations, there's a ridiculous amount of hype surrounding it now.
