Just in case you're checking back, NO. I don't shave against the grain, and I've never found a way to prevent the ingrown hairs.

These days, rather than torture myself, I just keep a towel around my waist until I'm getting into the water.

Same sort of problem here, though not as bad. I use depilatory cream for my bikini line - less convenient and I go through a lot of it, but there's the same level of (depressingly quick) stubble regrowth as there is on my legs, which I still shave.

Okay by sight the day after I do it, if sandpapery to the touch, and bumpy for a few days after that. Not painful, but hardly attractive either.
