Eh, depends on the character. If somebody's waxed or shaved because that seems like something the character would do, fine. If it's a character who probably wouldn't (as in someone who can't even be assed to shave his face regularly) and they're waxed or shaved because the author thinks pubes are "icky", that's a back button.

I don't really have an opinion on pubic hair in and of itself - it exists. People have it. But there was a forum comment somewhere that about sums up my feelings on well-kept versus clean-shaven: "I don't want to feel like I'm fucking a prepubescent."

I think the only time pubic hair gets gross is when the person hasn't actually cleaned it, at which point, the apparent lack of hygiene would turn me off anyway, pubic hair or no.

Says you. I don't swoon over pubes, but it's nice when they get a passing mention when appropriate.

Not so nice when they get described in elaborate terms like "his glossy curls of dark hair clustered around his ready manhood like a thicket of fragrant masculinity", but that's a different problem.

This reminds me of some interview with the cast of Teen Wolf commenting on how it's odd how hairless the dudes are considering that they're werewolves, and the actors said something about how the creators made the decision because their target audience, teenage girls, find body hair scary.

Pubic hair (properly maintained I mean, I don't want a damn jungle) is hot on a dude. As is hair on a guy, well... everywhere. Now, I realize that most guys on TV, are shorn to within an inch of their lives, waxed even. But when a fanfic author changes things around, and makes a character that seems like he would be/is hairy IRL (were it not for buckets of Nair) actually hairy, I like it. I dunno, being a hairy dude myself, it's just "my thing".

I don't mind it being described on guys, but I get kind of turned off when it's described on girls. I know it's bad and sexist (especially considering I'm female), but I like it when girls have no body hair.
