You raise some very interesting points that I really hadn't thought about! I can see why you wouldn't like Merida. As for point 5, I probably shouldn't have written that bit about Ariel 'not reading the contract'. I did remember Ursula being very pushy though (the way the song speeds up near the end also makes it clear that Ariel has no time to think about it).

I could never hate Merida, for the simple fact that I relate to her too much. But thanks for the awesome discussion, though! It was great. :)
