People who think all competent female OCs are Mary Sue are obviously wrong.

But at the same time, when an OC actually is Mary Sue, insisting that readers who notice it and object are all misogynistic haters who can't cope with the idea that there's any such thing as a realistic female character who knows stuff and can do stuff and may be attractive to someone -- that there is no such thing as Mary Sue, and if there was this OC certainly wouldn't be her -- doesn't help the cause any. Idfic is usually pretty recognizable to a reader, and not wanting quite that much of somebody else's id is not the same thing as misogyny.
