Yes, that's my point: After the speculation about Remus and Sirius, the pictures feel like JKR felt the need to make sure people understood Sirius was straight.

I really, really, REALLY doubt that she did it as a response to people shipping Remus and Sirius. She didn't make the Weasley twins straight after people started shipping them together.

I never thought about it one way or another, but I wouldn't be surprised. I still find the way Malfoy is described in the epilogue to be the most hilarious middle-finger ever. (Fine! FINE!
