Ah I see. Those are the worst. I have seen fic like that as well and it was really annoying. Also sexfics are...eh. Since I got older I really haven't gotten the appeal of writing a story that's just two people having sex. I like writing the character part of relationships, they way two people interact how and when they clash and all that stuff. Real life relationships.

A story that starts with "they meet" and ends with "they have sex" is cutting out most of the relationship part. Which is the fun part. Sex is a ten minute act that rarely adds much top the story by being shown. *ahrug*

OC x Canon isn't inherently the same as someones sex fantasy but a ton of writers fall into the trap of doing it that way. They put more proportion on the parts with their character and often do it for the sake of the OC and not the canon, and they make the story all about those two people. They usually put the planne drelationship first and toss together a story around it.

I have a fic where I'm placing five teen characters (and one younger girl) at a totally new boarding school. I paired off four of them with each other (all very interesting relationships in themselves) and have one left , someone who is actually interested in starting something new after her best friend and longtime crush found someone else. All five are close friends and I honestly like them all, so there's no ship bashing the one girl's relationship is just one of a few and it's just as likely that in all probability at least ONE of them is going to meet someone new. It was literally a discovered relationship as me and my friend worked together writing the story. "Hey these two could really work. Let's do this then" We originally intended on another girl in the story ending up with the guy (the OC).

When writing any relationship in order to make it good you need to show the mechanics of the relationship to make it buyable to the audience. Show two people developing a close relationship. Even if they seem to jump in to it mechanics are still involved. if they dive in headfirst they're more likely to face relationship conflict down the road since their fast relationship upgrade they didn't get a chance to see how they might NOT get along with one another.

*ahem* Anyway sorry for prattling on about relationship dynamics. A lot of people don't seem to know at a young age (13) how to write a relationship.. Just about anyone can post a story or join the site. Relationships are complicated things. Thanks for being so patient with me. I understand your reasoning and your squick towards OCxCanon.

Not trying to make excuses here just theorizing about why it's written badly 90% of the time.

Also .please pardon the spelling mistakes sometimes I get more into what I'm saying and don't notice the little things till it's too late.
