Nobody said she's a bad person. Just that she's not the bestest best person ever and omg she is such an ally because she said one whole character was gay, even though she didn't see the need to actually put that in the text.

Where is this "JKR is an ally" thing coming from?

She wrote a gay character! Some people are happy about that! That does not make her an ally. She's never professed to be one, or strove to be considered one in the collective fandom eye.
