Kind of Off-Topic But...

Can we talk about how incredibly MEH The Casual Vacancy was? It clearly won the Goodreads best fiction of the year just because OMG JK ROWLINGGGG HRRRRRRGHHH and not because of the BOOK. It was like she was trying to shoehorn in everything she thought people reading the book because she's the Harry Potter Lady would be scandalized by, and she let the only really intriguing characterization points she had drop like a cement-bricked mob boss.

Please let me not be the only person who feels this way. =/

MY problem with the Potter series was that all the intriguing characterization points/characters were bit parts, and the stars were the most boring people in the books.
