What is it with fanfic and Florence + the Machine? I remember when I started in fandom admitting your fic was "songfic" was a huge faux pas, now it's like everything about Sterek is embodied by Florence Welch.

I am not meaning to troll you, just... it amuses me that you'd think the shippers of a pairing that are largely noted as adhering to fanon that has almost no relation to canon would draw the line at calling their stuff songfic.

you're not trolly in the least haha.
I didn't even know that 'songfic' was still a thing, this is HP fandom snobbery from almost a decade ago!!! And even if Sterek shippers don't care too much about canon, they can still be elitist and have arbitrary standards. I mean, the canon is pretty terrible and some of the fic is great.
I was more thinking about how big the overlap between F+tM fans (of which I am one) and Sterek shippers is. Maybe I just notice it more than other bands??
