I consider myself a gamer. Most people I know would consider me a pretty hardcore gamer.

But you know what, OP? The only Nintendo system I've ever owned was a SNES. And the only Mario and Zelda games I've ever played were the originals on the NES at my grandma's house. I've never played a newer Mario or Zelda game. Never played Pokemon. Never beaten any of them. Have no interest in either series or any Nintendo console/handheld.

And yet, I'm still a gamer. Because being a gamer isn't about what you play or what you beat, its about how much you play and how much a priority games are in your life. It's just like saying you're an artist, or a writer, or a baker, or dancer, anything else.
